Investment in BD Startup: Between Innovation and Trust Crisis
Over the past decade, Bangladesh’s startup ecosystem has come a long way. Innovative ideas, integration of technology, and the boldness of young entrepreneurs have brought many ventures into the national spotlight. But the key question is: have these initiatives truly earned public trust? And when we talk about the possibility of attracting foreign investment, what is the biggest obstacle standing in the way? The recent Flight Expert scandal seems to make these questions even clearer. While not all, several controversial incidents involving startups have shaken investor confidence. Risk is always inherent in business, and profit is never guaranteed. But in Bangladesh’s case, the troubling concern has become the issue of founders’ personal integrity and ethical standards.

Google Wallet and Pay Launching in BD
On June 24, 2025 The City Bank announced the official launch of ‘Goole Wallet’ and ‘Google Pay’ in Bangladesh. But after this, there created a debate if the both services are same or not. If they are not same then which service has been launched?
To remove this ambiguity, I made a news report on this where Google itself gave their quote. I reached to google with some questions via email, and Google’s Communication team from Singapore replied.
This report has contributed to remove all debate and confusions. Plus, it is one of the rarest news in Bangladesh, where american tech giants like Google has given their quote.

Oracle Getting Govt Project Without Tender
During Awami regime, the then State Minister on Post, Telecommunication and ICT Zunaid Ahmed Palak, gave undue favor to Oracle. A project was awarded to Oracle by Palak without following competitive tender procedure.
This news was selected as one of the ‘Best Investigative Reports in Bangla’ by Global Investigative Journalism Network (GIJN) in the month of September, 2024.

Security at Risk by Illegal Communicator
This article was written on the risk of security possessed from illegal and unauthorized usage of communicator, a device mounted on helmet by bikers. This device requires pre-approval by Bangladesh Telecommunication Regulatory Commission (BTRC). The news was published on The Daily Kalbela on April 17, 2023. A video news story, made by me, was also made and published at The Daily Kalbela’s verified Youtube channel.

Hacker Gets Info of 1 Cr+ BD citizen
A black hat hacker group called ‘Breach Forum’ got access to personal information of more than 1 crore Bangladeshi Citizens. Those information were sold on Dark Web for $12,000. Such access was possible to gain by hackers from the databases of courier companies and BD police.
This is a news on cyber security and data protection.

'Pathao' accessing, reading & storing users data
This news was made while working at Online department of Ekushey Television, Bangladesh’s first private terrestrial satellite TV station. Here, it is shown that how ride sharing platform ‘Pathao’ accessed, read and stored users’ personal and sensitive data in real time. For example, they could read users’ sms directly. A tech professional Mr. Emon helped us making this news. However, ‘Pathao’ claimed this as technical glitch in 208, they ensured to discontinue that activity.

Betting Sites Banned, Promoted by Actresses
This story was published as the Lead story of The Daily Rupali Bangladesh on May 1, 2025. This news says that famous females models and actresses are promoting illegal gambling and betting sites in Bangladesh. Besides, government’s step to ban this sort of illegal website has been highlighted in the story.
